Commands to run after centos 7 installation

After successfulling installing centos 7 on your machine run the following commands

yum install wget nano epel-release qemu-guest-agent

systemctl enable qemu-guest-agent

yum update

Details about what you are actually trying to isntall 

wget -> it is a command line utility for downloading files from the web. Basically downloading files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP protocols 

Need-> You need to run scripts, install packages that can happen from the wget 

Nano -> It is a command line text editior, you do get by default text editors installed but trust me nano works great and easy to use. Check the blog on Nano for more details 

Need -> Though optional but suggested to use 

Epel-release -> EPEL is for Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux. It is open source and free community based repository project from Fedora Team (Another variant of linux operating system). EPEL repository helps to install packages for commonly used software on centos and Redhat 

Need -> You need this one, you will install a number of things and you will need the repository, must install 

Qemu-guest-agent -> If you are installing centos on virtual machines you need this. It allows host machine to issue commands to the guest operation system. 

Need -> On virtual machine it is non negotiable 

systemctl is command utility required to control the systemd system and serivce manage. These commands does not provide any feedback / output if they have successfully run on the machine. It is used to manage service and systemd 

Yum -> Yellow dog Updater, Modified installed by default with Centos. It is the primary tool for installing, removing, manageing RPM software packages.
