I want to share a personal experience where a seemingly simple project became a nightmare.

The project was to transfer my E-sim from Phone A to Phone B. The process involved going to the respective service provider and handing over both phones to the representative, who would then follow a few simple steps on the phone, and the backend would complete the task within a specified timeframe.

Unfortunately, the process did not go as planned. The representatives at the counter were discussing every case other than mine, and the result was that they made a mistake, and the process faltered.

As a result, my SMS was barred, and the phone sims were not swapped. The first takeaway is that when working on a task, giving it your full attention is important, or you may spend more time than required to finish it.

After visiting the service provider store and not receiving any help, I called the call centre, where I was given three different suggestions by three different people.

None of them heard my concern, and the solutions given were not helpful.
1) I was asked to visit the gallery again
2) Wait for 24 hours, or
3) Go to the gallery and change it to a physical sim.
4) Go and write an email

I did the above and even wrote an email, but the response did not help either.

The second takeaway is that false promises and procrastinating do not solve the problem. It is important to be upfront about needing time to figure out a solution, or if you are sure you will have a solution, state it clearly.

The third takeaway is that no process is rework; period, and sending people from post to post does not help. It is essential to have a clear process in place to avoid confusion.

The fourth takeaway is that listening to respond helps. Just answering is not communication; it is miscommunication.

The final takeaway is that if you know a problem, it is important to share how it can be resolved.

It may not be apologetic, but helping resolve the issue is part of the job.

In conclusion, a simple project can become a nightmare due to a lack of attention, unclear processes, fabricated responses, miscommunication, and urgency. However, I solved the problem by following the steps.
